Objectives of the P.A.I.N. Initiative
- Improve medical care in the field of pain management by establishing new forms of co-operation and data exchange between doctors, nursing and social services as well as health insurance schemes, panel doctors associations and the pharmaceutical industry.
- Provide a network for data collation and evaluation of chronic pain states and acute painful events.
- Utilise the knowledge gained to provide targeted disease and quality management and participate in integrated or other innovative forms of care.
- Acquire new and especially practice-relevant knowledge by pursuing syndrome-related comprehensive case-studies, recording and evaluating central data.
- Provide new cognitions and conclusions in terms of quality and pain management to the P.A.I.N. members, healthcare professionals and the general public.
- Train the P.A.I.N. members in the field of interdisciplinary pain and quality management and provide conditions such as specialised computer software for data recording (P.A.I.N. Quality).
- Support P.A.I.N. members and partners in generating, analysing and providing reality-based data in the field of quality assurance and economics.
